Katherine Pierce tried her new leather jacket on, and stared at her own reflection on the mirror. Her reflection offered a soft smile, as she started fixing her hair, the long brown waves were almost covering her face, but after observing Elena, she realized that it was the only thing that was different between them. Katherine folded her arms, looking at the jacket, until she smiled, pleased. She couldn't help it, through the years, Katherine had learned how to do her hair, and choose the perfect outfits, she wasn't exactly an ugly girl. She grabbed her heels, and tried them on, staring at her feet and nodded softly. She would stretch her arms to the floor, grab her purse and get out of the store's changing room. Katherine offered a sweet smile to the shops manager, and just walked away without paying, one of the advantages of being an old vampire. Humans were so easy to control, that it was almost boring to play with them.
Katherine threw herself into the darkness of the night. The moon was shining and the stars were amazingly bright tonight. She walked, and walked. The whole way was on her memory, every stepped she made, reminded her of the past. Sometimes with Damon, sometimes with Stefan. She could almost hear their laughters inside her head. Stefan's arms around her, and the sweet touch of Damon's hand on her skin.
Katherine turned to the left, and a smirk appeared on her face. The old house was still there, just like she imagined, just like the first time. It seemed like yesterday, when she first crossed the Salvatore's door and stared at the two handsome brothers. And now, 145 years later, there she was, staring at the same door, hoping to find the two handsome brothers, smiling at her again. But enough of dreaming, she wasn't expecting them to be 'nice' at her, but eventually, they would fall again, Katherine was going to make sure of that happening.
The old Salvatore house was in front of her, and she could come inside, she had lived in that house, a long time ago, but right now, it wasn't the cleverest thing to do. Katherine leaned on a tree,and stared at the house and its garden, all the memories were coming back to her, and she couldn't help smiling. She could feel them near, She knew they were there, somehow, waiting for her. Or at least, that's what Katherine thought. "Come out, come out, wherever you are." Katherine whispered, almost to herself, while she stared at her nails, with a soft smile on her face.

[ELENA GILBERT]

Elena Gilbert was sitting in her room, on her favorite place, the window sill, writing her diary. She wrote down everything that had happened today and everything else what came to her mind. What was quite a lot, since there was much going on in town right now with all the vampires running through Mystic Falls. But she was especially worried about Katherine, her vampire doppelganger. It was scary how alike they looked. Sure there were a few things, that were different, Katherine for example wore her hair in curls and Elena's hair was smooth. Also they were completely different persons, when it came to their personality. But still it was scary how much they looked alike and how good Katherine had become at playing Elena. Once Elena was finished writing into her dairy, she got up and put it back into it's hiding place on her shelf. Then she walked over to her dresser, where her cell was laying. Fast Elena checked it for messages and sighed frustrated when she saw that there were no missed calls or new messages.

A part of her had hoped that Stefan or Bonnie had tried to call her. Elena really would have loved another night out with her best friend or just a nice night with Stefan. But nothing there was nothing. Elena knew that there was no reason for her to worry about Stefan, because of that, he was maybe out for a hunt, after all with Katherine around town it was important that he stayed strong. That was when Elena made the decision to go over to the boarding house to surprise Stefan. But before she left, she went to her closet to change clothes. Fast she changed into a pair of jeans, a light blue top and a dark blue blouse. Then she combed through her long, dark brown smooth hair and was then satisfied with her look. In the next moment, she put on her shoes and grabbed on her way out of the room her leather jacket. Fast, Elena went downstairs, she looked in the house for Jenna, but it seemed that she was out. So Elena wrote her a note that, she was over at the Salvatore's.

She took her house and car keys and left then. Outside she got into her car and started the engine. Elena drove out of her parking space and down the street towards the boarding house. As she drove down the streets, she hoped she would not walk into Damon there. He was at the moment not her favorite person in the world, since the incident with Caprice. But fast she pushed that thought aside, he was probably out at the Grill, having a drink or two. As she drove up the driveway, she was in a good mood and hoped for the best this evening. As she parked her car in front of the house, she did not suspect anything bad. So Elena got out of her car, locked it and walked into the boarding house, where she wanted to wait for Stefan. Elena laid her jacket on the couch and sat down for a moment. When she suddenly heard a sound, she got up from the ground with a smile on her face, because she thought it was Stefan returning. But as she walked around the corner, she came to a sudden stop and shock was rushing through her body, but she still Elena tried to stay calm, as she saw who was standing in front of her.

Katherine was just staring at her nails, well, pretending to stare at her nails, actually. She'd heard how Elena's car parked right next to the house, and how she grabbed the keys, to close the door. Katherine quirked an eyebrow, and smiled softly to herself.
After 4 days of being at Mystic Falls, trying to avoid people, and only going out after four am, finally, something interesting was happening, something worth remembering.
Katherine cocked her head to the side, when Elena started walking towards her, and as soon as she walked round the corner, Katherine's smile, was even stronger than before. She couldn't help feeling some kind of pleasure, when she looked at her Doppleganger face. Even though they looked the same, Elena's face was filled with fear. Even if she was trying to hide it, Katherine was smart enough to know that Elena was speechless.
She took advantage of the moment, and quirked an eyebrow, with a soft smile/smirk on her face. "You must be Elena.." She said, staring at the girl who looked just like her, up and down. "I don't think we've met oficially..I'm Katherine"
Katherine blinked, and offered Elena one of those sweet smiles. She looked at Elena and then at the front door of the Salvatore's old house. "Are you here for Stefan? Or are you looking for Damon? I want to know if you made the same mistake I did... Or are you a good girl?" Katherine blinked, and stared into Elena's eyes, with an innocent look on her eyes. She would cock her head to the side, thinking "Show time."

In the last time, Elena had thought that her life was going to be better. It really had seemed to her, that she now slowly could get back to a normal life with Stefan. Sure they had promised Damon to find Katherine, so that he could be with her. But that had changed once they had found out, that Katherine hadn't been in the tomb. Since that Damon had changed a lot, she thought. He was cold, really mean and a really big jerk, sure Elena understood that he was hurt and that he hated Katherine for what she had done to him. Also Elena had know that she was out there and that she was involved in all this trouble in a way, but she had never expect to meet her so fast. She had expected, that it would be a long and hard search until they found her. But now she was here, here in Mystic Falls. What was an even bigger shock for Elena. She had heard the story's from Stefan and Damon and she had known, that Katherine and she looked alike, but she had never imagined it, to be such a shock for her. Sure they looked alike, but they were completely different persons when it came to their personality as it seemed to her. So Stefan had been right with what he had told her, about Katherine and that she was not like her.

Now that Katherine was standing in front of her, Elena watched her more closely. It was like she was trying to find something, that made Katherine look different from her. But as she watched her, she had the feeling of looking in a mirror. She saw her own dark brown eyes, looking back at her and she saw her own face in front of her. The only thing, that caught her attention and what seemed to be different, was the way Katherine was wearing her hair. While Elena was wearing her hair smooth, Katherine wore her hair in curls. Elena was pretty sure, that the shock and the fear, was easily seen on her face. That was probably not the best thing when it came to Katherine, since she had heard Katherine liked to play games with others. Also she had heard that Katherine used such things against her enemies and Elena was pretty sure that she was an enemy to Katherine. After all, she had taken away the Salvatore Brothers from Katherine in a way. Not that she was like Katherine when it came to that. She loved Stefan dearly and only wanted to be with him. Sure she cared for Damon as well, but only in a best friends way of caring, she thought to herself.

Finally Katherine broke the silence and said to her "You must be Elena.." with a soft smirk on her face, quirking an eyebrow at her. A moment later she added "I don't think we've met oficially..I'm Katherine" with the same expression staying on her face. Elena was for another short moment speechless, but then she finally said still sounding confused "How...how is this possible?" "Why do we look so exactly alike?" shaking her head lightly in disbelief. When Katherine asked a moment later "Are you here for Stefan? Or are you looking for Damon? I want to know if you made the same mistake I did... Or are you a good girl?" looking at her innocently. Elena answered a moment later still unsure what to tell "I'm here for Stefan...and only Stefan!" and added a moment later "I like Damon, but just as a friend..." watching Katherine carefully. Before Elena could think things through, the words "I mean I would never do what you have done to them..." escaped her lips. Then she again shook her head lightly confused and said "We opened the tomb, you weren't in there how could you escape?" "And why are you returning now?" Elena asked, feeling her heart starting to race and she still was breathing heavily from her shock. But she now tried to get control over her own body, trying to calm down and find out as much as possible.

Katherine placed one of her hands on her hip, and laughed softly. Oh god, how she enjoyed playing with people. That expression on Elena's face, was causing pleasure to Katherine, seeing how the fear and confusion were taking over Elena's mind. Katherine had experience in that area, feeling lost and confused. Even if it had been almost five hundred years since she felt that way for the last time, it wasn't something she would easily forget.
Katherine stepped forward, almost touching Elena, smiling at her, and shifting her weight from one foot to another. She knew that probably that would make the other girl more nervous, because, well If Elena had a bit of common sense, she would already know, that Katherine could kill her, in less than a second.
Quirking an eyebrow, Katherine started speaking with that innocent voice. "Have you enjoyed, The Salvatore Brothers? I know it's quite hard not to fall for them. Especially Stefan..His sweet touch, and the way he speaks. I mean, I know he's a martyr and all, but girls use to love it. What happened to them, anyway? When did the get SO hot?!" Katherine laughed softly, and starting curling her hair on one finger. "Not that you're going to enjoy them for much longer now. "
Katherine wasn't planning on answering most of Elena's questions, that was all part of the plan, people shouldn't be involved in what she was thinking to do. She would sigh softly, and started to look at her nails. "I don't really think we look the same. Look at your hair, you obviously don't know how to look pretty." Katherine smirked softly. She knew that her sex appeal, was quite impressive actually. Katherine was probably everything that a guy wanted, obviously, until she broke their hearts, or even necks.
Katherine's face was serious now, which could be quite frightening for someone, who had heard, how dangerous Katherine is. You shouldn't be here Elena, your turn here is over, and it's time for you to go back from where you came. That means, anywhere but here.

[ELENA GILBERT]

It was kind of a shock for Elena, to see that Katherine, seemed to think of all this as one of her little games. Sure Elena knew what Stefan and Damon had told her about Katherine. She remembered that they had told her what Katherine was like, she remembered them saying that Katherine was, demanding, clever and manipulative. Also Elena always thought, what Katherine had done to Stefan and Damon. This woman had hurt them both so badly and had changed their lives, so abruptly in a bad way. After all, Stefan had once told her, that Damon and he had been best friends and that this had ended once Katherine had gotten involved. Now they only spoke the most necessary things with each other. Also the two of them had been badly in love with Katherine back in time and it had taken them almost 150 years to realize, that this love had not been true. Sure Stefan had been over Katherine before Damon and Elena hadn't known him to that time, so she did not know how bad his reaction had been. But she had seen Damon and she had seen how he had reacted and she had to say that this had been really scary at times. So she don't wanted that to happen ever again.

Still Elena was watching Katherine carefully, she was almost waiting that Katherine was going to attack her. One thing was after all sure and that was that Katherine hated her, because she had taken Stefan and Damon away from her. But the only person that had pushed them away had been Katherine herself, she thought. She was torn out of her thoughts, when Katherine said with an innocent voice "Have you enjoyed, The Salvatore Brothers? I know it's quite hard not to fall for them. Especially Stefan..His sweet touch, and the way he speaks. I mean, I know he's a martyr and all, but girls use to love it. What happened to them, anyway? When did the get SO hot?!" A moment later Katherine laughed softly and added "Not that you're going to enjoy them for much longer now." Elena felt at first fear when she heard Katherine's threat, but then felt anger rise in her, but she tried to suppress it. It was not good to become angry and say the wrong things, to this vampire, who could kill her in the blink of an eye, she thought.

Finally she answered "I do care for them, both of them!" then she took a deep breath to calm herself and then said "I do love Stefan for so much more then just that, he is the most wonderful person I ever met and he understands me in a way no one else can." watching Katherine now even more careful. Then she commented on Katherine's next question "Why do you ask, I mean it's not like you care for them anymore, since you left them and broke their hearts and I think they are now both over you, to bad isn't it?" "So I think they are not going to be to happy to see you again and I see no reason, why I should stay away from them." Elena knew that this was probably the biggest mistake she had ever made, but she couldn't help it. She was not going to give up without a fight. Although, this fight was probably going to be short, if she got no help soon. But she was not going to allow Katherine to hurt Stefan and Damon like that again and she was for sure not going to stay away from them.

Elena knew she had just put her friends and family into danger, but she was sure if they would know the truth they would understand her and tell her that she had done the right thing. She was once again torn out of her thoughts, when Katherine said with a smirk on her face to Elena "I don't really think we look the same. Look at your hair, you obviously don't know how to look pretty." looking at her nails. "I like my look and I think Stefan and Damon like it as well, otherwise they would already have returned to you don't you think?" That was the moment when Elena thought, she was going to be so dead, Katherine was going to rip her head off and tear her into many small pieces. But it did not matter to her, she did not mind to die, if everyone else she cared about was going to be safe afterwards. "You shouldn't be here Elena, your turn here is over, and it's time for you to go back from where you came. That means, anywhere but here."Katherine said with a serious expression on her face. "I'm not going to leave Mystic Falls, because you told me to, this has always been my home and will always be my home and I'm not gonna leave it, because of any vampire!" she said with a serious, maybe still a bit scared expression on her face. Looking directly at Katherine, she tried already to predict, her next move so that she would not have to die without fighting.
